In 1964 Ernst and Luzia Burke founded the livestock dealership Burke - specializing in the "buying and selling" of piglets.
In 1994 the current company owner, Stefan Burke, took over the business from his father, whose fleet consisted of a 7.5 ton truck with a trailer. Stefan Burke expanded the business to include the "marketing of slaughter pigs" division.
